Highlight of Kuranda. Great boat trip in Kuranda. We saw turtles and fish, and our guide Warren pointed out some crocodiles lurking below the surface. As well as a relaxing cruise, it was also very informative about the area. Felt the right level of commentary was provided as we cruised along the river. Would highly recommend. Located just on the river side of the train station. Its easy to find. But given that less boats are running, would recommend bookings ahead we booked on the morning of the trip.

There's no guarantee on what wildlife will be seen during a cruise but it is certainly a relaxing time on the riverboat. Wayne Kuranda Riverboat Sightseeing Cruise Wall was a great guide and explained the history of the area and talked about the rainforest and wildlife. We saw and got to feed turtles and large freshwater trout and saw beautiful birds fly by the boat but unfortunately did not glimpse the freshwater crocodiles which inhabit the area. The group before us was lucky enough to see a cassowary the famous Elvis, I believe on the far side of the River.
I had done the Skyrail from Smithfield and the boat tour is a perfect activity to do while in Kuranda before heading back on the cable car Kuranda Village is also close by some yummy food and coffee.
