Awesome Haunted Cruise! I went here with my family for the Pittsburgh Haunted Cruise. The cruise was very fun. He was very scary. The myths about the Monongahela monster do still exist today. Pros: - All the boats are unique in their own way. They had plentiful food so if you want seconds or thirds Go for a dining cruise if you want good food in big quantities they're not absolutely fancy but they're great for what they are.

In town for a conference which had a fascinating Bridge and Waterway tour today covering each of Pittsburgh's three rivers. Only city in the world which has more bridges is Venice, Italy. Nice Way to See Pittsburgh. We took the one-hour sightseeing cruise and, even though I have lived in Pittsburgh my whole life, I learned something new. The Grant Building is considered a lighthouse because of the light on top of it. It was not intended to keep boats safe but rather planes. Our excellent guide, Andrew, told us a funny story about the construction of the Highmark Building. The architect had designed it so that the building itself was supposed to be as tall as the spire is now, but the City changed its mind and wouldn't let him build that high.

So, he changed his plans and added the pointy spire as a message to the City. The tour started up the Monongahela toward Oakland a short way, then back down to the Point and up the Allegheny towards Heinz, then back to the Ohio.

The weather was iffy, but it didn't actually rain until we had debarked. In addition to the narration on the boat, there is plenty of history to be learned from the timeline murals that line the tunnel down to the dock.
