I recently bought more of an offshore style boat since that is my preferred fishing style, and I will be putting my Tidewater for sale soon. As far as quality goes, I think they nailed it on the important stuff. The hull is really solid, and everything has held up pretty well. The hatch grabs are terrible though the metal things you grab to lift open the hatches.

The non-locking hatches came with round metal discs that sit flush on the deck until you lift them. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to lift them - like picking up a quarter off a flat surface. I made some modifications early on though, and this was no longer an issue. Most of the the locking hatch hardware on my boat failed, or is in poor condition.

That doesn't prevent me from using it either, but I don't think I could lock any of the compartments if I wanted to. I guess if I cared enough, I would replace those components. The boat rides great, and I can honestly say it is the best boat I've owned so far, barring my new one I hope.

Then look at how others do their wiring. The difference will be obvious. It is my opinion Id have to X2 this. A company that takes the time to wire properly and neatly is a company that also will pay attention to the details while building the rest of the boat.

I just took delivery on my Tidewater although it is a cc and not a bay boat. After doing a stupid amount of research, I basically believe that they are the best bang for the buck in the price range and that is the primary reason I bought Tidewater. Fortunately, I also liked the layout better than the others I looked at and found fit and finish to be pretty much the same all around. Bottom line is I got a boat with a lot of extras including hard top for less than a less appointed boat from the competitors.
