What is the cost to register one here in CA? I just spent cost of registering a boat trailer in nsw 1 hr at the DMV site and can not find the cost. I do see you only have to register it once and renew every 5 years. Are there anything I need to know about trailering?

Keep the sales receipt and cert of origin. They do an inspection, in my case the inspector just walked around it and looked at the plate with the VIN, saw lights on it but did not want to see if they worked.
Very easy but your experience may vary with DMV. I got the harbor freight trailer with 8" wheels. I think it is rated for lbs or so. The trailer is a little flimsy when you build it but it stiffens up with plywood. I welded the frame and that helps to stiffen it. It does not feel as solid as a quality trailer made from welded steel. It is very lightweight and not to be overloaded.
