I studied and went to Atlantic City boat show, Baltimore boat show and Cleveland boat shows. Also went to a couple on water shows and did some test drives. Definitely test drive one before you throw more money on another brand. See if it's for you. I could not justify the money difference on some other brands. I will say I was down to the cobia and the robolo. Wife loved the interior of the cobia. Test drives convinced me of my decision. I won't badmouth another brand out here but I couldn't believe how wet some of these center consoles were on 2 to 3 foot chop in the south passage in western basin on Erie.

Their wiring and finish at the time was crappy but I can only assume they have gotten better on this front since the '05 models.

The ride in rough water is amazing and as dry as can be. I can run faster in rough surf than my buddy can in his 22' Pathfinder. I have a newer Yamaha four-stroke on it and it is a dream. Fishslaya recommended going down to on HP but I respectfully disagree.

I had a 90HP on mine and when I upgraded everything got better. Top end, fuel consumption, hole shot, etc. The live wells on my boat are the only negative I can say. They don't reach to top deck underneath so in rough seas they leak over into the bilge which is a problem as I see it. The boat also didn't come with an automatic bilge pump which was Good Starter Boats 20 a problem at first in that when the live wells overflowed into the bilge a problem with sinking was imminent if I hadn't noticed the transom going under water.

I have been fishing for the last 4yrs but this is the first boat I have ever owned and it has definitely been a learning experience.

It has the Yamaha 4 stroke which has been getting great fuel economy and tops out at about 45mph. I just got back from a trip to Pensacola this weekend and fished anywhere from miles off shore Fri, Sat and Sun and burned a total of 44 gallons of fuel over the entire weekend. That was the first time I had taken the boat offshore and it did great.

Attached Images. I fished out of aNitro z7 for 6 year and my friend has it now. I've heard these same complaints about that boat? There are complaints about every manufacture out there. I've had a few issues that were just ignorant like they didn't add the supports for the ladder , it was an easy fix. I'm happy with my boat and the previous deck boat from this manufacture.
