They saved the killing blow, placing me right in the middle of their den area, making for a sticky corpse recovery.

Continuing on to Desolace, there was a beach clearing in the beginning of the zone.

Comment by Rideen Got this 2 days ago Patch 7. My experience with Legion flying is the following: It took me about 2 hours to get all the rare fish. Then I have spent all day and the tomorrow's day to acquire Luminuos Pearl without success because I did not have skill in fishing.

I have fished from over different pools and could not get it. As soon as I got skill, I caught the pearl on second pool which leads me to the conclusion that you must have skill in order to fish it. My advice is to fish from fishing pools only if you have flying. If you're in desperate need of other Azsuna lures and you fish up another Rusty Queenfish Brooch , use the 5 minutes of free stationary pool fishing for a headache-free way to increase your odds of getting your lures as opposed to open water fishing or hunting pools elsewhere.

I entered Stormheim and within 10 minutes fished up 2 of the 3 required rare fish, thinking that this would be a breeze.

Then spend the 40 minutes along with 4 Arcane Lure trying to get the Moosehorn Hook. I finally gave up and moved to another zone. So I clicked Buy Now but it didn't process.

So I tried again but again it didn't purchase it. Then I noticed at the top of the screen it said that I was not allowed to have more than 1 of these items. I was like WHAT? Sure enough, I had put one in my bank like a month ago along with 2 other lures that had also given me grief in different zones. Multiple FAIL 3. Standing in front of a fresh new fishing pool in Azsuna, I clicked on the Pearlescent Conch bait and frantically fish for 2 extremely short minutes.

As the buff fades and not a single rare fish lands in my inventory I begin to vent FAIL 4. Fished up the Rusty Queenfish Brooch and immediately put it on so that I could search for the pools.

It seems that there is only one spot for this and it is in the middle of the Acedemy lake and CANNOT be fished without some ability to stand on the water. I actually got lucky on this one because I had thought ahead and purchased water walking potions. Had I not, this would have been another Fail.

All my "ocean" fish catches were done along the shore in Black Barracuda pools as recommended. So when I caught my first Decayed Whale Blubber , of course I dropped it on the ground, easily caught the fly and then applied the bait. After about half way through the buff and catching nothing, I realized that I needed to be in "The Great Ocean" for the buff to work. So I quickly flew out to sea, popped a Draenic Water Walking Elixir and luckily caught 2 rare fish before the buff expired.

Partial FAIL 6. Due to the many casts, of course I set a macro to fish and bound it to a key so I could rapidly cast after the autoloot. Well, TWO times during this adventure, I hit the cast key before autoloot completed with a bait attached.

I saw the bait show up on the screen but it never made it to my inventory. FAIL 7. Got the achievement done and then in my excitement tried to fish up the pearl at the fountain in Dalaran. After a few casts, assumed that Dalaran might not be considered as "Broken Shore" so I flew to Azsuna and started fishing on the shore. After about 5 minutes I realized that I could only find the Luminous Pearl in a pool.

FAIL All in all I used 34 Arcane Lure - I did purchase 5 baits off the AH but then wasted about 8 lures trying to catch bait that was already in my bank : Lost track of how many hours I spent I fished both pools and open water though I found that it did seem like the pools were way more successful maybe because I focused on them. It is just that places like Azsuna is practically barren of Cursed Queenfish pools, so I had to fish in open water. Fished up the pearl on my 3rd pool Hopefully someone reads this and learns from my numerous mistakes and does not repeat them.

Most important is the bait. If I have all the bait BEFORE I start this achievement and I have good enough fishing and adds, I can do this quest on one of my alts in less than an hour and a half, start to finish with the pearl. I was able to get the target fish in just one pool most of the time.

Once I fished up the target fish, I just go to a new pool, throw on new bait, and keep fishing! Several of the bait have hooks to them so read up on the funky snail, rotten fishbone, vrykul ring, the rusty brooch, the moosehorn hook, and the sleeping murloc. The message in the bottle and the blubber have need only if you do not have the fly or the axefish lures. Now to the particulars. I made sure to get ALL of the fish artifacts to level 3 pool pops.

Skip the boots and the Flounder as it will save a lot of work and are not worth the bother TBH. With the help of a few arcane lures and worm supremes, I went bait fishing for my other 13 alts. I got enough for two or three alts in a couple of hours as the pool pops drop a lot of bait, way more than the normal rate.

Once I got a bait drop I mounted my Travelers tundra mammoth and sold them to the repair guy. When I was near full in the buyback screen, a mailbox while mounted made quick work of mailing off the bait to be stored away in a bank. There is the bait without spending a ton of gold buying it in AH. The arcane lures I got with the help of custom grouping with Margoss fishing.

I also had flying which helped a lot good luck with this procedure without flying in Legion EDIT I did not realize that one alt could not have more than one bait at a time even if put into the bank vault I have a guild made just for my alts which does allow multiple baits. I guess you could spread them around to other alts or keep them in the mail. That and worm supreme made sure that the target fish would drop quickly. Load up with the bait, find a pool, use a worm supreme if not already running, and one of the baits.

Once I got the target fish I would go immediately to next bait after I went to another pool. I was usually done with the target fish in minutes and use only 3 pools and with only normal fish per region. Walking on water potion helps with brooch and ring completion.

I did NOT bother to use arcane lures with the alts until the barracuda fish to get the stunned, angry shark as it not worth the extra fishing time just to use up the lure.

By my 4th alt, I was getting this done in an hour and a half or less. Another hour to get the pole to my minimum 3 barracuda pool pop my FIRST goal , then going for water walking and underwater swimming, the most useful things for the pole. My initial run is with a couple of sleeping murlocs to get the 1st artifact barracuda pool pop, and finish leveling it in Azuregale Bay in Suramar. It took me around 4 hours to get this last one for the ach.

Comment by RiokaR After returning to the game and trying this, I was frustrated to realise I already had some of the lures in my bank, and as they are unique, I ended up wasting too much time fishing for nothing. This macro will check if you have an item hidden away in your bags or bank.

You'll get a lot of the points you need with the actual fishing, fishing skill doesn't seem to affect catching the special fish and almost all the special fish are worth 10 gold apiece and no, you can't save them to use for AP on the Fishing Pole, unfortunately.

You can come away with gold your results may vary by saving and selling these instead. If you finish and are still short some points, then throw back just what you need to get to throw back the Seerspine Puffer 1st from Surimar-they are only worth 1 c each for some Blizz-only-knows reason. Also, you don't have to be in the zone that matches the fish you throw back either, so just throw back in the zone where you finish up the achievement you can even be in Dalaran-by the fountain.

Comment by Mookosh One very important thing to note for those wanting the Underlight Angler on multiple characters. The achievement is poorly designed within the achievement UI, and partially behaves as if it were account wide.

Once completed the first time, it will display as completed regardless of which character you are on. Basically, for every character you want the artifact rod on, you must re-do this entire achievement individually on THAT character.

Mousing over the Achievement points in the character's achievement window will show which character on the account earned it first, as well as whether the current character has completed it. However, when viewing Bigger Fish to Fry in the achievement window, if you mouse over the left side icon for the prerequisite achievement in the frame A Cast Above the Rest , it will show you which fish you have and have not caught on the current character.

Exceedingly annoying, but at last there is some way to keep track of what you have and have not yet caught on alts you wish to also get the rod. There was an add-on that made tracking achievement progress on alts Fishing Boots 15 Jours easier, but recent patches have broken the add-on making it always display fully completed even on characters who have not actually completed it.
