We enjoyed getting to sit on the open deck and see the sunset and historic houses along the way. The music and entertainment were fun. All the people working were very friendly. It was fun stepping back in time to ride the steamboat! If I could write two reviews I would give the experience, music, and cold beer five stars.
The buffet turned is reason for two stars. It was an Oktoberfest Fest themed cruise, only German fair that was even close was the sauerkraut. They had baked factory pre-cooked sausages that were horrible, mushy inside. PASS on buffet.. I did speak with our caterer. The bratwurst were not baked factory pre cooked, the German potato salad follows a German recipe, the chicken did have a Bavarian sweet mustard sauce on it.
We are glad you enjoyed the entertainment and the experience. We took a river cruise on a Saturday night. It was nice to be able to see all the bridges and to learn a bit of history of the area. The drinks were pricey and the food wasn't that great but overall we had a nice evening out. The cruise was very relaxing. The lunch food was good. We were seated on the second middle deck and the buffet was on the lower deck, which made it a bit difficult managing the stairs with hands full.. Captain pointed out several items of interest on both the KY and the IN shores.
Don't remember that being done on previous cruises several years ago. I use to live in Potomac River Sightseeing Cruise Data Louisville and never tried the riverboat cruise. I am disappointed it took this long to try it out. Everyone on the boat was very friendly. We did the brunch cruise option. There were lots of breakfast and lunch food items to choice from.
It is very much catering company type food, which was not bad if you go in with that expectation. It was nice to have free roam of most of the ship, with plenty of seating on every level. The DJ was a bit cheesy, Sightseeing Cruise Louisville Ky Uk but it fit the overall environment of the boat.
My only complaint would be that the boat moves exceptionally slow so you really do not go very far down the river for the time length of the cruise. Overall a fun time that I would do again. The wife and I took a cruise on the Belle of Louisville and what a joyful experience it was. Boarding was made easy by a well trained staff, seating on the deck was comfortable and the ride was smooth as glass.
The sights of the bridges as you passed under them were remarkable as was the ships that passed us and the homes and businesses that lined the shoreline. We left on time and arrived back on time. The sunset in the evening was just beautiful and if you like taking photos, this is a trip for you or if you just want to sit back relax and think about nothing or spend time with that someone special, this trip is for you.
