Questions and Discussions for Books and Pubs. I've searched the site for a review on this but can't find anything so I apologize if this has been asked before. I've been to the lauckstreetshipyards website and these practicums seem to be pretty sweet, but are they worth the money? I know, I know, price is relative, but to anyone who has used them, was it worth your money?

Never having built a POB before, I'm wondering if it's simple enough to guide me through the process. I'd like to see a review on any of them. Any thought? This is individual and his courses has been a controversial subject here. Check through them. Some will say great others will say not so good with a few less than OK. The information is there - you decide. Everything you need to know about planking is in there, along with a lot of other information pertaining to ship model building.

Articles about planking ,rigging, painting ,etc. I've seen where a few people used them but nothing definitive about the actual practicum. I'm thinking I'll just save my money to use on the Constitution kit and just use the build logs here and see how many times I can make the same mistakes. Thanks Everest, I found that yesterday and have already found the Bakker and Brooker article on planking. I think they wrote that for me. He doesn't tell you anything outstanding, which the wonderful members of the forum are happy to impart for free.

He took a lot of shortcuts in putting it together, including using pictures from other models. He also rushed and did a lot of errors like gluing photo etch the wrong way and probably another half dozen errors he freely points out. A bit odd to buy something for instruction that essentially says "don't do as I do.

Some really basic stuff came in handy when I was working on my first build which wasn't the Pegasus and had no clue what I was doing, but I probably could have gotten better answers posting here. Some people say the Constitution practicum is pretty good.

Maybe it's a lot better than the Pegasus one, I don't know though. Thanks guys. I've decided not to bother with the practicums at this time. Got the Rattlesnake today.
