I'm looking at the V shape bow not a flat bottom. I like the ease of towing and loading of an aluminum. I used a 14' with an 18hp growing up on the St. Lawrence but am thinking it may be more then I need for these lakes.

If you watch the weather you can get out, but waves can kick up in a hurry on Oneida so I would suggest you stay close to wherever you launch if you are running a boat that small.
I have a 16ft alum. I know a guy that has a 14 for oneida so it can be done but you might not fish it all the time when you want to. I have a 14ft and i love it. Its nice n light. I use it for around fulton.
