Honestly the 13 fits better in my hand casts further and in my opinion just an all around better real.
I chase Smallmouth and Pike in Wisconsin. Both powerful fish that are capable to make strong fast runs and turn on a dime and make a run at the boat. This reel handled both scenarios perfectly. The ability to cast further helped getting the bait as far from the boat as possible which is super important when fishing gin clear bodies of water. After a month of using it and numbers of fish caught on it I ordered another one in a higher gear ratio. I would recommend this reel to.
